Now is the time to network! Our Speed Mentoring event is our twist on speed dating just with ad professionals. With an event of this grandeur, there will be a shift in venue— Grand Rapids Brewing Company in downtown GR on Wednesday, November 20, from 6pm-8pm.
How the event functions is simple— each attendee will be paired with an ad professional to begin. As it is fast-paced, a limited amount of time is allotted to converse about the professional’s industry, their job, or any other burning questions! Once the designated minutes are up, you will shift seats to the network with the next professional.
As far as our roster, we have a diverse group eager to provide some advice. They all possess distinct roles and work in various agencies and in-house settings. To prepare, check out our list below, then you can ask the right question to the right professional:
Professionals | Agency | Role |
Adam Barr | Freelance | Copywriter |
Hayley Lerg | Scott Allen Creative | Graphic Designer |
Jason Ferguson | Freshwater Digital | Creative Director |
Hannah Svendor | C2 Group | Marketing Associate |
Christine Melvin | Corporate America | Marketing Specialist |
Daniel Spicer | Our Full Attention | Creative Director |

As this will be a professional setting, please arrive dressed business casual. You will be speaking with advertising professionals for a short time and looking well-dressed is an easy way to make a strong first impression.
It’s time for rapid-fire networking, chips and guacamole, and a beer (if you’re 21, of course). Let’s make some connections and gain some industry knowledge!
